Roller-blading & Coutume Cafe, Paris

Coffee to Melbourne standards can be hard to find in Paris, but Coutume Café is part owned by an Aussie, and has taken the standard of coffee in Paris up to a new level. Well-located in the 7th arrondissement, near Invalides and Musee Rodin, the menu is simple and delicious, and the focus is squarely on quality coffee. One of the best cappuccinos to be had in Paris.  A terrible shot from my ipod camera below.

It’s grey and overcast in Paris today, but rollerblading is alive and well. I have seen the Pari Roller rollerbladers in action on a Friday night on a previous trip, and this afternoon run into the Sunday afternoon rollerblading event run by Rollers & Coquillages as they progress down Rue Garibaldi in the 15th arrondissement. Both are well-run events, supported by the first ever roller-blading police unit in the world, and with a few ambulances making up the rear of the procession. One poor girl doesn’t negotiate the cobblestone street terribly well and ends up flat on her derrière on the road.
